To help the DILG gather citizens’ feedback on local governments’ service delivery performance and their general satisfaction, the third CSIS Project of UNO-R with DILG through the RDO started the data collection in the Municipality of Binalbagan last July 2019.
The team arranged a courtesy call to Hon. Alejandro Mirasol, Mayor of Binalbagan; Novie Abao Mejica, DILG CSIS focal person; and Sangguniang Bayan members at the Municipal Mayor’s Office last July 31.
The data gathering, including the baseline data collection and field interviews, was carried out from August 7 to September 8, 2019.
The fieldwork interviews encompassed a total number of 150 respondents within 16 urban and rural barangays in the municipality. The first day was allotted for the survey of the rural areas and the second day for the urban areas. The barangays that participated in the project are Amontay, Santol, Bagroy, Payao, Bi-ao, Marina, San Juan, Paglaum, San Jose, San Vicente, San Teodoro, Canmoros, Enclaro, San Pedro, Progreso, and Sto. Rosario. The municipality tapped the LDRRMO that offered service vehicles for the enumerators and staff involved in the project.
Around 25 persons were involved in the field interviews, including the project staff – manager, technical assistants, field supervisors, data processor and encoders, field interviewers/enumerators, and local guides.
Unlike the previous CSIS, the data encoding had been challenging due to the online DILG’s CSIS system. Nevertheless, it proved to be more accurate and improved in terms of data confidentiality.
The data gathering for the CSIS has been completed, and the findings have been encoded and analyzed. As of the moment, the reports are being prepared for endorsement to the DILG.
