The Recoletos Educational Apostolate in the Philippines (REAP) Lamp Decision No. 37 Committees in partnership with Ascendens Asia organized an abstract training-workshop at the University Saint Ezekiel Laboratory 04, September 11.

The whole-day training workshop sought to impart the value of a good abstract as well as to demonstrate and train the participants as to how it should be written especially using the IMRaD  – an acronym for Introduction, Method, Results, and Discussion.

The morning session revolved around the discussion of  FDR. Glenn Cabangcang, DBA, CBMEX, SFRIBA, CEO of Ascendens Asia on the significance of a good abstract as well as the IMRaD format.

Cabangcang shared how a well-written abstract can go places such as International Libraries.

After the discussion, the participants were instructed to edit their own written abstract or that of their students, applying their learning from the discussion.

Among the participating Recollect schools are Colegio de Sto. Tomas-Recoletos (CST-R), Colegio San Nicolas de Tolentino-Recoletos (CSNT-R), San Pedro Academy-Recoletos (SPAR), and University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos (UNO-R). Participants who represented their respective schools were mostly research-affiliated teachers and staff.

The participants were given the opportunity to present their outputs during the afternoon session. Representatives of each participating school also had the chance to express their reactions and words of gratitude afterwards.
