Four faculty researchers were granted financial assistance for conducting an institutional research project after they have successfully passed their proposal defense in July to August 2019.

Nikko Paulo R. Calumpiano, an MA in English and Literature graduate of West Visayas State University, is currently a faculty member of the College of Education. His study entitled Codeswitching in the Classroom: A Linguistic, Psycholinguistic, and Pragmatic Analysis investigates the linguistic, psychological, and pragmatic properties of codeswitching spoken by UNO-R College of Education students. The results are the basis of a monograph that discusses codeswitching in the classroom as well as its nature and causes.

Rigel Kate Y. Lamig, MAGC, RGC, and Chris Feli Joy P. Tajonera, MSGC, RGC, are collaborating on the study entitled Influence of Emotional Well-Being and Spiritual Wholeness to Midlife Positive Functioning among midlife adults. A seminar-training in a series of sessions is designed to facilitate the development of knowledge on how to improve oneself in such mentioned areas.

Lamig currently serves as guidance counselor at the Integrated School while Tajonera is the Director of the Student Development and Placement Center.

Finally, El Jireh P. Bibangco, MSCS, program head of the Computer Science and Entertainment and Multimedia Computing, CIT, co-authors with student Alaica D. Mariño in the research Supervised Learning Algorithms in Predicting Student Performance in Introductory Programming Courses. This study aims to use six supervised learning algorithms to build models to predict the performance of CIT students in their introductory programming courses.  As an output, instructional material for the introductory programming courses will be designed.

The All-In Institutional Research Package is available for full-time faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and lay administrators who intend to conduct institutional research while still handling the maximum of 24-unit teaching load or full-time office job provided that the research should be completed within five months or one semester. This Package entitles the researcher Php50,000.00 grant in cash for the entire study.
